Some brands promote Himalayan pink salt as if it automatically makes a better HOCl product. That is not the right way to judge quality. The pink color comes from naturally occurring minerals. Those minerals may be desirable in food marketing, but they are a problem in chemical-grade HOCl manufacturing as they may introduce trace metals or other impurities including they acutally promote FAC decay, a faster decline to the need chemicals for your skin.

The color usually reflects mineral content, including iron oxides and trace minerals. For HOCl production, extra minerals may add unwanted variables, unwanted materials in HOCL.
